In this
musical venue John Boda has been called Mr. Acoustic Jam Man! He uses an
incredible digital phrase sampler called "Boomerang", which allows him to
record himself while performing, and instantly play back his own guitar,
then jam over it while also adding bass lines or percussive guitar taps
sounding like two or three instead of one. Along with his Boomerang, he also
incorporates a digital drum unit on some songs to even further enhance his
big solo sound.
He
has played at many Chicago land festivals, restaurants and pubs on a regular
rotation for nearly twenty years. He has recently recorded three live CD's
from a few magical nights, these CD's are only available at his appearances
which are always listed in this site under "Now Appearing".
Performing songs from the rock era

John Boda - The master of guitar, master of the
Boomerang.....and if you dare to listen close, you will discover
astute and sensitive interpretations of classic chestnuts from
the past several decades....more than a musician, John Boda is a
musicologist offering up a kind of history that just seeps into
your soul and lingers for a good long while...he is really that
good!

The Tim Wilsey
Project
John
Boda also is the guitarist/vocalist for this jazz-standard-funk
trio. They have two CD's available covering many groove classics
as well as some originals. The trio is guitar-bass-drums, but is
often split into various forms to accommodate venues, such as
the unique pairing of a duo of guitar/drums which is often the
case!
Boda/Wilsey MC2 Duo
John
Boda and Tim Wilsey appear together as a power duo covering
everything from jazz - R&B - pop - rock - blues and more. Since
E stands for "Energy" - E = MC2 and they are! These videos were
filmed at a more quiet place and dinner crowd, and are laid
back, which is something that they can do. But they also excel
at high powered in your face loud grooves and deliver whenever
possible!
